We count pieces of mail and nothing else. Opening, scanning, Henry's summary and translation, shredding, and storage (30 days for letters and packages alike) come with every piece. Our single plan is $19 a month or $190 a year at the founding price with 30 pieces included, extra mail is $3 per piece with everything still included, and recipient names are unlimited.

What a month actually costs
The two pricing models read very differently on a receipt. With iPostal1, the plan price is the cost of receiving mail, and reading it is billed on top: every open-and-scan is a separate order, with a page cap per order. With Auteur, the plan price is the whole bill for 30 pieces, opened, scanned, and summarized.
That is why the comparison depends on your habits, and we say so plainly. If you rarely open your mail, their model is genuinely cheaper, and you should use it. If you read most of what you receive, the scan orders stack up fast: opening just a few letters a month already adds more than their plan price on top of it, and opening most of your 30 pieces costs several times our whole month.

iPostal1 is the biggest aggregator: thousands of partner locations, one of the lowest entry prices in the market, and pay-per-action fees on top. Flat plans like Stable sit at the other end, with the actions included at a higher base price. Auteur is built in the flat camp, at a lower base price, opening in three California cities run by us.
